"Solid Steel in association with Serato (18th February) This week Redrum starts the show with his Boomtape mix. The Barcelona based French DJ kicks off with funky breaks courtesy of Ali B and gets progressively tougher with Vent and Vibesquad. We continue with music from Wiley, Redlight and Poirier, plus the bass heavy Doorly remix of the Scruff classic 'Get a move on'. This is spiced with different latino, oriental and balkan flavours throughout, before ending on a dubstep note.

In hour 2 Strictly Kev revisits hip hop from 1989 having been asked to play at Classic Material, a night run by Chris Read (whose mix we recently featured). Each month the night celebrates a year from Hip Hop’s past. It was the turn of 1989 which was a special year, rich in musical delights with the beginnings of gangster rap taking over Hip Hop and the emergence of De La Soul’s Daisy Age with their incredible ‘3 Feet High & Rising’ album. Les transports en commun ont ceci de délicieux qu'ils sont le lieu propice à une immersion dans un océan de solitude introspective et délicieuse malgré la foule et la cohue générale (ah, la station de métro Saint-Lazare aux heures de pointes et les trajectoires des missiles humains qui s'entrecroisent en mode tricotage schizophrénique !). Du coup, j'ai passé la matinée à nourrir mon petit Archos bancal et foireux avec le tout nouveau, tout beau Ninja Tune XX édition numérotée. J'appuie sur play. Le 2.1 se met à vrombir sur Major Lazer. Putain, le son est überjouissif.

Bon, track 5 du premier Remixes 1 et ça commence sérieusement à me gonfler de rhâââloveliness. Tout ceci est extrêment intéressant.

Kill du Trax spécial Ninja Tune, fin de Mortimer, de Terry Pratchett, et début de L'Échiquier du Mal, de Dan Simmons.

On a aimé l'album de Santogold et leur mix déluré d'avec Diplo, on aime bien The Boxer Rebellion, The Heavy, Tunng et on se prépare les nouveaux albums de Klaxons, !!!, We Are Scientists et de The Arcade Fire, ainsi que la dernière ponte de Sufjan Stevens, All Delighted People EP.

On recherche Ubik, le roman (on verra un jour pour le jeu une fois Fallout 2 terminé) et la fin d'une époque survient à la naissance d'une autre, radieuse et foutrement motivée.

On va p'têt se faire un concert Ninja Tune sur Paris, tiens. Ah, et aussi, putain, le coffret XX édition limitée commence à se faire désirer. Combien de temps, encore ? Douze jours ? OK, c'est cool. On a de quoi boire et manger de toute façon.

Le rip de BBC1 de Def Surrounds Us m'intrigue. C'est bon, très bon, parfois furieux, visitant plusieurs atmosphères comme une balade dans des montagnes russes musicales aux basses explosives. Try To Make It, lui, nous emmène par la main pour une promenade cool qui fait autant de bien qu'un bon massage des trapèzes. Chill out complet. L'album nouveau est prévu pour 2011.
